Clear Bra
Janice and I are getting ready to pull the trigger on a clear bra install.
After reading through all the historical posts about the options, it looks like 503 Motoring is the shop of choice.
However, after talking with Ben at 503, I am afraid that $795.00 is a bit too steep.
Actually, I think it is absurd!
Anybody have any other options, opinions, advice?
We would love to hear your feedback.
Thanks,
Dave

Apex Restoration in Beaverton does it and uses 3M product. I am not sure of the cost, but worth a call to check.
I have looked at some of their work when I visited them a while back and it looked like they did a very nice job.
If I remember correctly they go farther up the hood, include the door handle cups and the top of the back bumper, but they can confirm that.

Mine was $500 from 503 Motoring. That included the front bumper, mirrors and the rear bumper behind the wheels.
How much were you asking them to do? That must have included the hood and fenders?

We had our S done by 503 in July of 2006 for $650. It included hood, fenders, mirrors, bumper and door edges. This was 8 mil 3M film. The headlight were an additional $100 for 20 mil covering. I can't recall what the cost was for a patch behind the rear wheels, but it seemed a bit high and we didn't go for that. We went to the shop before commiting and saw quite a few new BMW's and Porshe's (sp?) from local dealers. I figured if these high dollar new car dealers were comfortable with 503 they had to be pretty good.
We also went to a shop in Vancouver and were not impressed. The cost was similar but the application didn't look as clean as 503.
It DID seem like a lot of dough, but I really didn't want the nicks on the front end.

Oh, well. It was there and the cost of a damaged headlight seemed like this $100 option may be worthwhile. $40 a pair from 'Rick's' is a pretty good deal!
I recall perhaps another $100 or more for the pieces to go behind the rear wheels. That seemed like a bit much. In conclusion, I was very pleased with the application done by 503.

I had a clear bra installed on the entire front of my car, the side skirts and the rear bumper cover as well as the headlights, the mirrors and the door handles. If you want the best job with the best product I highly recommend you go to Tommy's Window Tinting. Tommy is a first class guy, does incredible work and the materials are first rate. Not only that, but Tommy stands behind his work and his staff is incredibly friendly. Take it from me...someone who is extremely particular about their car....their is no other place in town I would ever go to have this done. I have seen the other products out there and the other shops you have mentioned...and they don't even come close to Tommy's Window Tinting. Tommy's is located at 915 SE 12th...his number is 503-891-8468. Be sure to tell him that Jeff Fisher sent you in. And if you want to see the type of work he did on mine...just give me a call...my number is 503-310-0401.
