Default Craigslist scams

So I go on my local Craigslist and see this listing:

http://bend.craigslist.org/car/766842450.html

Nothing out of the ordinary. Low mileage garage queen.

I email the person mentioning that I am not interested in buying, but wanted to know if they were on S2ki, etc etc.

I get this reply:
Hello ,
Thanks for your email !

First of all I want to tell you that I'm not located in US. Because of my job I moved to Canada for the moment. The price of the car is $3,450.00. I know it may seem low, but I find it reasonable. I have no use for the car due to my job. I have a clean title ready to be signed. The car has no electrical or mechanical problems. We can use eBay Motors to complete the transaction. The deal will go strictly according to eBay rules and policy. In order to start the official transaction, I need to know your details:

- Full name and shipping address

As soon as I have them, I'll start the official procedure and eBay service will notify you about this. I'll handle the shipping, so this will be free of charge for you. We will use eBay Motors to manage the payment because it is the safest way for both of us and also you will have 10 days to inspect the car before I receive the money. Also, a refund policy will be included.
and so on and so on

They dont even reference the same selling price! WTF

You should reply to them saying that you are very interested in the car, but only have a money order for over the amount since there was another car you were intending on purchasing. You will gladly send them that money order if they can deduct the cost of the car and return the excess amount to you. I'd like to see the response to that

Needs to include that the car he was planning to purchase was previously owned by a Nigerian Prince (:

Screwing with people is fun. At my job in Little Rock (Ark) there was a time when I would get LOTS of sales calls from toner companies. One day the guy asked if I have any specific toner needs.

Me, "Yeah. I need some white toner."

Salesman, "... white toner?"

Me, "Yep. Got reams of black paper - nothing to print on it."

Salesman, " ... white? I don't ... let me check our inventory."

*clicky clicky clicky*

Salesman, "We don't stock white toner. Where are you currently getting it from?"

Me, "That's the problem! I don't have any. If I did, I wouldn't need you."

Salesman, "Well, I tell you what. I will personally find white toner for you and when I do, I'll call you."

Me, "Awesome! I'll need all you can get."

Salesman, "Anything else I can do for you?"

Me, "No. You've pretty much made my day."

Very curious reply by the "seller." Probably wants you to pay using Paypal, pocket the money, and close his/her Paypal account. Then you'll have to fight Paypal to get some of your money back when you discover the "seller" is not the legal owner and does not really live in Canada. I would ask for a VIN number and confirm ownership through DMV,
as the real owner is probably unaware her care is for sale. And I would want to see the car and title before giving them a penny. It's manifestly apparent that the deal is too good to be true.
