The A.D.D Thread
At one time in the 90's the Florida State Patrol had several Vetts they got in an Odometer tampering case. I remember reading an artical in a car mag about how they got them etc. During the story they interviewed on of the troopers who drove one of the Vetts. The dude was 6-4 and something like 270. The Vette was a convertable and had the light bar on the top. WTF was the FSP thinking?
For people who want the story behind the "studying for a drug test" read below - if not skip to the next post.....
A couple of years ago I was looking for someone to work in our finished goods warehouse. We found an applicant that had operated a forklift and organized inventory etc - basically what we were looking for. He had been on temp disability due to an injury and was getting back into the work force. After the interview we send him for his drug screening and tell him to report the next week if the nurse cleared him.
An hour or so later I get paged to the office. The guy we had just hired wanted to talk to me. We sit down in the conferance room and he tells me, "thank you very much for making an offer to me and I really really appreciate it, but well since I was done with my PT and ceared by the doctor to go back to work one of my friends came over Sunday night and we decided to celebrate, so we torched up a joint. Now, I have never done this before. So I guess I will have to say not to your job offer at this time, but I would like to study up for your drug test and come back in a month or so and take it again."
I thanked him for stopping by and telling me rather then just not showing up for the drug screen and that we would keep his application on file for 90 days. - After he left I had HR put him in the Black folder.

The Black Folder was for people that we would not hire.
The perminant member of the the Black Folder was the guy who showed up every Wednesday morning - barefoot, no shirt, and smelling of booze to fill out an application.
