Well I got pulled over today

But I still don't think a detector would have been of any benefit in this case. I knew he was watching me and I was attempting to be good. But as I stated in the other thread, I just wasn't quick enough to slow down to the new limit for his opinion. No ticket, not even a written warning. Likely just an excuse to check my paper work and look in the car (top was down). Or maybe he was just checking out the sweet blue S2000

I'm squeaky clean, Mr Officer Sir!
The car, on the other hand, gets a bath tomorrow

I do understand the merits of the radar detection hardware, it's just not something I'm interested in

I switched from using Escorts for years to the Valentine 1. The unit looks ike it was made in 1984, but the detection is great and the directional arrows are amazing.

Did he tag you with radar or was he pacing you? How fast over the limit were you going? I want to get a sense of how much over LEO's are ticketing for. And good job on no ticket

I must have entered each new zone a couple miles per hour over and he was for sure pacing, as he was in the lane next to me a couple cars back.

He was a nice guy, just obviously using speeding as a doorway to other ticketable offenses. And knew that +2 wasn't going to float with the judge.

Thanks. Other than being alert there's no way to electronically detect LEO pacing you By the way. I wonder if he would have ticketed you if you had a detector I'm thinking LEO likes to mess with people with radar detectors

I miss the Uniden Beartracker BCT-10 and 12. This is a device that was out in the early to mid 90's. It was about the size and shape of a radar detector and was an excellent compliment. What it did was pick up the signal from the repeater antena on every patrol car. If they were within 3 miles of you, it would tell you. I tried to get on in 02 but they had been discontinued and now you can't even find them on Ebay.
