This may not apply directly to your setup since you want to run dual and you're turbo'd, but I've heard quite a few tanabe's they sound pretty good, but all of them had a weird drone at cruising RPM.
...
I still think one of the most important tests is to hear the exhaust from inside the car before buying. Some are just too loud for everyday use but even worse are the many that drone at 3000 to 5000 with most throttle openings... it makes long travel almost painful.

The stocker was too quiet for me but the fist two exhausts I tried droned too much... I wound up with a Mugen which is a low volume exhaust but even it has some drone at times.

Just remember, it may sound cool going by but 99% of the time you will hear it differently, from the drivers seat.

^ right.
My 5zigen exhaust is much better if you are listening outside of the car.

My fd's HKS sounds good both inside or outside of the car.

I used to have tanabe exhaust on my 00si, it sounds amazing too.

I havent decided yet whether or not to run a free flowing cat like a 3" berk highflow cat. What I lose in power I should gain in retaining a healthier and cleaner environment
You will lose very little with the Berk HFC. Berk claims 85% the flow of a TP, and I have the Berk HFC with the OEM exhaust. I was able to get about 20whp more out of a retune just with that swap, so their claim may be right. I am looking at getting a dual exhaust, too (and stalking this thread ), but it is for a better sound. I'll get a retune, but I'm not expecting much more. For what it's worth, I ran a couple of these suggestions by Jason over at PSI, and he thought GReddy would be a good choice, if a but more spendy. This going to be fun!

Thanks for the vids Brian. That prompted me to do some more searching, specifically on the magnaflow mufflers. They seem to be the more sought after "domestic" system with several members very happy with it. I'm impressed. Not your typical jdm backyard special bling but same straight through design but perhaps with more d&d. From the information I could find they don't seem to be too loud inside or out. They are also much cheaper than lets say the Tanabe mufflers at about $220 ea, compared to $160 ea for the Magnaflow.

Has anyone here have any experience with this system who could provide first hand insight? I'd appreciate it.

keep the 3 in piping, have someone weld it back to the oem mufflers and then do a cut out right after the down pipe and retune the money you save from buying mufflers could go to the exhaust cut out!

I have thought of that but I got rid of the oem system. Do you think i need to get it retune because of the change in flow?

if you need an 06+ oem exhaust, forged might still have mine sitting around, if you are interested in going that route i can call them to see if they still have it and you can come by and swoop it up i was going to go take the tips off them since i wanted to keep that part but got too lazy

Thanks Hiep. I think I'm gonna go with the tanabe hyper medallion(s). So far this seems to be what I'm looking for.

I was also thinking about getting a Berk or similar HFC. Berk, unfortunately is only 70mm or 2.75" and I'm running a 3" system so I don't want anymore restrictions. I might just put the mufflers on and if it does drone or is too loud then maybe I'll consider a HFC. Berk is one of the few that makes them in a metallic core substrate which is stronger than ceramic.

Final decision: tanabe hyper medallion. They are only available in a 60mm and 80mm so I guess I will be running 3" to both cans.

Well, apparently Tanabe does not offer the hyper medallion is a 80mm as advertised on some websites. Therefore, I went ahead and ordered a pair of Apexi WS2 mufflers instead.

Just talked to John at Forged Performance and we will be running 3" to both mufflers. Should be a nice setup! Will have pictures and build coming up.

Thanks for all the info and help guys. I really appreciate it.
