Event Ideas?

Maybe something similiar to what Silverknight/Wyatt are doing. Not in terms of gutting the mods out of Silver's car, but if people want to collectively install their mods and have a bbq. Always nice to have some extra hands and knowledge to help. Of course, like the wash and wax, we would need a good amount of space.
Also, another idea of mine. My parents own the concession stands at Sunset Speedway in Banks Oregon. Their best friend owns the track. Now don't get TOO excited, it is a clay track(not exactly S material). What I am thinking is setting up a small car show or something there. They try to have a lot of events like this to get more people familiar with the track out there.
Let me know what you guys think??

[QUOTE=Bz2005s2k,Mar 30 2006, 12:22 PM] What kind of space are we talking about? I have not been to this type of meet before(NEWBY, I know). How many cars/people usually show up and how big a garage/driveway do we need to accommodate. I have a few options for places to host this kind of thing.

Anyone interested in Poker or interested to learn how to play poker? I think it would be fun to have a poker night and BBQ!!

For 6-10 cars I can host that at my place(three car garage, long driveway) but I do live in Redmond, OR. Maybe too far.(fun drive through the pass in summer though). If this is too far, I can possibly host at my father in laws house(two acres).
At Sunset Speedway we hosted two car shows last year. Mostly "Old school/Muscle cars" but we can turn it out with our rice. If there is interest I can start to setup and try to get a nice gift for show winners.

It is out there too, but not quite as far as redmond
ALTHOUGH, the drive could be fun
Gavin - your dad needs to meet my dad. My dad brews as well. He converted a big referigerator (sp) into a "kegerator" by makeing shelves for the kegs inside the kegerator, with hoses going to a "tap", where on the outside there is a series of nozzles to pour whichever you want into your glass.
The car show thing sounds kinda fun!
I don't play poker, but count me in for the BBQ and brewskies, and maybe finally getting around to LEARNING how to play Texas.
I would assume we would need room for 6-10 cars as well. Look at how many we had at the first meet!!
