Default First time DIY's

Hi everyone,

Let me start off by telling you about my situation. So i bought my first s2k a month ago and now it is time to start working on it. I dont want to take it to a Honda dealership, i would rather do the dirty work myself and learn. This is what i need help on:

1) How to change/bleed out the clutch fluid?
2) I didn't get a manual with my car, so can anyone recommend me what type of oil and filter to use? Oh and dont forget to mention the brand name
3) Will a berk's test pipe fit on a hi-power hks. the problem is the test pipe is 63.5mm and the exhaust is 60mm...don't want to order it and have it not fit...

I couldnt' find out anything about the bleeding of the clutch fluid on the forum. So if anyone has a website that shows pictures and instructions, that would be very helpful! Well thanks in advance for the help.

I've bled the clutch fluid myself and I consider myself an idiot when it comes to wrenching. There is a DIY somewhere in the Under the Hood section.
I can try to track it down but I'm at work right now. It wasnt too difficult though. Helps to have a second person.

10w-30 oil (AMSoil) and Honda PCX filter
I ordered a 6-pack of filters from HandA Accessories for pretty cheap.

Dont know about the test pipe.

And welcome!

Hey let me start by saying welcome and congrats on the new purchase!

As far as oil and filters go people use many different brands. I have used Mobile1 oil and KN oil filters on all my cars. Once I got the S I just continued to use this set-up. You want to make sure you get the correct weight of oil and filter for the S.

Your Berk will physically fit there assuming it for a S2K, however you typically want to match the TP size to the exhaust size fro maxium flow. Another option is have the sizes get bigger at each stage. So Header 60mm TP 65mm Exhaust 70mm this way you do not have any bottle necking in your exhaust system. From a performance stand point im not sure what the horsepower differences would be if any but these will flow the best.

I'm sure on the clutch bleeding as I have not done that myself yet. Im sure if you check the forum you can find some info.

Good Luck see you around!

Well, the car came with a comptech header...so i don't know what size it is? The previous owner told me that the test pipe would fit perfectly but he said the berks was a 60mm and i looked on the website and it was 63.5! eekkk dont want to waste my money. Thanks for the fast reply. i thought it would have taken days lol.

It's really simply, however, it's much easier if you have someone there to help you. You have to bleed it from the clutch slave cylinder. I'm off tomorrow, let me know if you need some help.

you guys will be needing a turkey baster or something to take the old brake fluid from the clutch reservoir then replace the fluid with a fresh one then u start to bleed( by pressing the clutchpedal and lift it many times) from the slave cylinder(bleeding valve) until all the old dirty fluid are gone. But make sure there's always fresh fluid in the reservoir and u don't runout when doing the bleeding(u don't want air inside). Hope this help.
