Default Joy of driving

Yesterday I went over to Lincoln City to check out a beach house my neighbors bought there. After dinner I decided to head north and drive back to Portland via Highway 6. Incredibly I saw no other eastbound vehicles between Tillamook and Banks. That's right, no one behind me, no one in front of me - for 60 miles!!! The road was ALL MINE on a beautiful sunny evening. It was a Zen experience. (I played "Japanese Bullet Train." Do you know that one - where on nicely banked curves you can balance the momentum and the centrifugal force so they almost cancel out gravity? Woo-hoo!) (How do you say "Woo-hoo" in Japanese?)

According to Babel Fish Translation, it's "Hooに懇願しなさい".

Sounds like a good time. I love when I'm the only one out on the road.

Oh man, I wish I had remembered you're off those days. It would have been a great drive to have shared with you and your new tires. I just put a "djmike off Tues & Wed" sticky on my desk.

Now I'm taking this thread in another direction, but weekday drives can be fun if you plan around rush hour. Who else has some regular weekday availability, might like to do an impromptu weekday drive sometime?
