I have to admit that I have been busier thank I'd like at both work and home. Sorry to everyone for neglecting my duties around here.

The weather has gotten alot better- how about that Gorge drive?

HEY! You deserve kudos as CO for bringing the PDX group back alive again, and organizing meets is almost like herding cats, so no need to apologize if real-life work has to take priority for awhile.

The next several Saturdays in May are free for me (surprisingly), so I'm ready to join in a Gorge drive. Now who wants to be responsible for getting us a sunny weekend? hehe

Thanks Marcus! Much appreciated.

Has anyone heard from Jim (jyoungken)? Hopefully he can take the wheel on the Gorge plans.

My wife's got a business dinner on Sunday night, so I'd be up for a late afternoon drive, if the weather is nice, and dinner afterwards. Nothing aggressive, though, I'm talking cruising, not spirited driving....

I second Marcus' comment: you're doing great as our CO, Primo. There just aren't a lot of S2K owners in the area -- it's density issue, I think.

Alan, pls. post a thread on your thoughts on Bremerton. I've never driven it -- isn't it a bit informal/makeshift? I seem to recall much of the course is set up with pylons on an old airstrip or something, but maybe I'm thinking of another track. In any case, it's reasonably close, so I'd be up for doing a roadtrip there sometime, if anyone else is game.

You notion of what is up there is correct - it's an old WWII Naval Air facility that is now used extensively for motorsports. The track outline is accurately described in the thread that tedster posted at

https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=98080

It is favored by several clubs because it is a very cheap facility to rent compared to tracks like PIR and Pacific Raceways.

While the roadcourse isn't very impressive, Bremerton is a wonderful place for AutoX with almost endless expanses of pavement. That is the primary reason I am heading up - on Friday morning, 7 of us will have an AutoX course to ourselves and should be able to get dozens of runs in before lunch
