As most of you may have noticed I have not been very active on the boards lately.
Not only has my new job kept me really busy and had me traveling the last few months, I have also had a lot going on in my personal life. These things have kept me from the boards here as well as kept me from driving my S
In fairness to our coummunity I think it is best if I step out of the CO spot and we vote someone else in.
So, if there is somebody here that you would like to nominate as a possible CO to join Larry, post it here! Self nominations are welcome and if you are nominating someone else we would like that person to validate their nomination. I will talk with Larry and see how long we will keep the nominations open. We will then close the "open enrollment" and start a vote for our new Community Organizer (C.O.)
EDIT: I have talked to Larry and we have decided that we will stop accepting new nominations on March 14th at noon. We will then post another thread listing the nominees and give everyone the option to vote for who they believe should be the new CO. We will have a 5-day voting period, tally the votes, and announce the new CO.
BTW, here are some pics of a possible replacement to my S. I know, I know it will not be as fun to drive as the S but I really need something that I can drive in all four seasons acrossed the mountain passes.
This is a pretty rare setup for an Audi A4. It is a 2006 Audi A4 2.0T S-Line with the Titanium package. It is basically the S4 without the V8. It only has 16,000 miles on it and it is Certified Pre-Owned so the warranty goes until 2014 or 100,000 miles.
Sorry to see you go, but that Audi does look nice (and practicality is a nice bonus ) . You going to make any drives this year or will the car be gone by then?
As for your replacement, I think it should be Huy or Aaron.
Huy has stepped in and helped with CO duties already, so seems like it would be a natural progression for him to become Co-CO.
Aaron is very active on the boards (though so is Huy ) and contributed to our forum in way of his graphic talents. I think it may be nice to have our COs spread to different regions. With the "get to know" requirement for the badge, it may be nice for members outside of the Portland/Metro area to be able to have gatherings that don't require them to drive to Portland (that could earn them a badge).
Well it's a shame to see that it's actually happening "so soon" Brandon.
BUT..I suppose it is a necessary evil (and evil it is).
My older brother is an audi nut and has an S4 and LOVES it to death. I'm sure the S-line would be plenty enjoyable for you. That one is certainly a sharp looking ride. Practicality is nice, not to mention the fact that you've already had your mid-life crisis car, so now it's time to settle down and be a mature adult...or something to that effect.
Just make sure you don't disappear entirely, or else we'll have to hunt you down, and I know where you live.
Tony, thanks for the nomination. I'll certainly accept it and see what the others end up saying. I'm honored to even be considered. I think Huy is an undeniable nomination too for all the work he puts into planning and events, so he gets a +1 from me as well.
I'm sad to see Brandon go, at least he won't have to worry about driving to another Homecoming and getting damaged in both ends!
As far as a CO goes, I see positives with both Aaron and Huy.
Aaron keeps us having a C. Oregon presence and all the great work on the grafix, like the St. Helens poster that I still haven't decided where to hang.
Huy brings with him a great amount of excitement for planning and participating in drives and meets. It is great that he is local, it allows for great interaction with the other CO.
If I had to vote for just one..........
I go with ............
Wait we will be voting later so I will save it for that!
Brandon I'm sad to see that you bought a different car. Although that Audi looks pretty dang nice If you're ever in this part of town make sure to hit me up. I would love to see it. We'll go to Henry's!
As for co-CO, like Aaron, I'm honored to be even considered and will certainly take on that role if chosen by the group. I agree that Aaron would be great, with his great ideas and is a guru with graphics, therefore he gets my vote. I will leave the decision to our community.
I've always loved Audi's fit and finish, and with the gas prices these days talking about going over $4 per gallon for just regular, I think you got the best of both world!
