My s2000 was totaled :(
Hi All,
I have (had) a 2006 black s2k. A f**ing a***hole jumped a stop sign in a stupid camry and totaled my beloved car

So, the estimate for fixing the car is 13k (which actually surprised me, as the car started after the accident when the tower moved it out of the road), and they said what when the start taring apart the car, that will only go up. The insurance company is now offering me 18k for the car, which I think is not enough. They also gave me the option of owning the wreck for 3k.
I think owning the wreck and trying to fix it myself will be a huge undertaking, which I am not qualified for. does anybody know other options?
Also does anyone else have experience in negotiating with the insurance company? or can provide tips for a higher settlement?

So sad
If I were you, I would counter offer the insurance. It would be more time consuming, expensive and difficult to try and repair it yourself after that kind of damage.
Insurance is there to "make you whole" with your loss. Especially since it was the other guy's fault, his insurance has to pay for it. Pull listings from Craigslist, Autotrader and local dealer listings. They have to give you the value of the car if you were to just go out and replace it by buying another one that is "the same" less any particulars (damage prior to the accident, etc) so you just have to prove that your car costs more than 18k to replace.

Deff try to get more out of it, they should give you close to blue book at least, as for buying it back, you can part out the car and make much more than 3k off of it if you have extra time, as long as the engine is good you can make quite a bit, you can make over 1500 just off the interior pieces, seats, steering wheel, panels airbag etc... If you need help or questions PM me.
Sorry for the loss man.
