Default My Vacation

Yesterday after getting into Charlotte we drove by the house I grew up in. It is for sale again.

Today we drove down to Charleston, SC. we leave tomorrow afternoon on the Ship. I will not be posting until I get back.

This is a guest that was hanging out on the front steps at my folks house.

In Charleston......

A RORO being docked.

USS Yorktown - I will get a better pic tomorrow - I did not have the 55-200 lens with me.

Typical older Charleston house.

At the Battery

One of the OLD houses on the Battery

This ones is in bad shape, but has some interesting things to see on it....

check out where the plaster has broken and falled off.

More pics to come later........

I wish I did not have to work - I guess when you get 5 weeks of PTO each year you have a lot of time off.

Here are some more pics

RORO - the lot was full of BMW's - the port is straight down I-26 from the BMW assembly plant in Grier, SC.

USS Yorktown - always makes me remember all the men who served in WWII.

Channel Marker

Some of the folks saying goodbye to us

Fort Sumter - location of the first shots of the Cival War.

My nephew amazed at the LEGO model of our ship

people waiting for dinner

This is what most of our group had - everyday! I had it once.

The Disney Wonder in port in Nassau.

Atlantis

At Atlantis

After gambling a little at the casino we took a limo ride back to the ship. My niece loved this part - it was a $4.00 per person ride.

Nassau - lighthouse, Atlantis, and the cruise ships

the Pilot boat picking up the harbor pilot

Freeport

Shadows on the water

Tankers - on or off loading near Freeport

Art in Key West

The chickens are a cross between normal chickens and Cuban fighting cocks.

The start (or end) of US 1.

The trees you see are a single Banyon Tree

Palms over Key West

The towel dog my niece made for me - for some reason I had a wet yellow stain on my bed.

The bow of the ship.
