Default New Hood?

So today I was looking over my hood and touched up all the little rock chips I got. (Man I got a lot) I was thinking that I might need to repaint it. But also thought maybe I should get an after market vented CF hood and painting that. I'm on the fence if I should or shouldn't.

I was thinking about the CF J's Racing or the Amuse, probably replicas since I think the real thing is way too expensive. Since I'll be spending money on the supercharger soon. Obviously these hood are more for aesthetics and ventilation nothing to do with weight saving. Since our hood is aluminum.

What's your opinion? J's style, Amuse style, OEM, or something else.

David will probably chime in here, but from what I've read, many of the CF hoods have fitment problems. I think that is what David experienced and have heard that from others.

Maybe "fitment" is in the eye of the beholder?

Other than the venting, is there any particular reason you would go with CF? Everything I've read show it doesnt save any weight (and on occasion weighs more) over stock.

No weight saving (slightly heavier since our hoods are made from aluminum), it's mostly for aesthetics and venting, which isn't really a problem for our S. Oh if I do get the CF its going to be painted too. So in the end I will spend more money then if I were to paint my OEM hood, but that would be fine if it looks good.

I've been thinking about doing the same thing - mainly for the looks.

I don't know if I trust gambling on a Seibon, and I'd hate to pay the price for an authentic CF one and then paint it. I'm still a ways off before I do this though.

Huy - I don't know if you saw, but Evasive has some Seibon hoods with weave imperfections for $500 shipped. Perfect candidate for painting.

Thanks Tony, I will look into that. I'm not sure what brand I would go with; Seibon, VIS, etc. Any suggestions? That's another reason why I'm thinking about knock-offs since I'm painting it and it would b a shame to paint over the beautiful CF weave.

Can you send me link to the Evasive deal?

Thanks
