Aaron....you should plan a photo day...maybe in a month...get the fall colors
One of the best areas I have always heard of for getting fall colors would be Waldo Lake. Not really sure why since a lot of the surrounding foliage is evergreen, but people say it's great. It's a long drive for most of you, but if you were interested, I could plan something.

Waldo lake is SE of Eugene and East of Oakridge along Willamette Pass.

There's several ways we can get there (some are *fun*, some are *quick*)

Other options are areas around Lane County where we could do a drive down, do the photos, partake in the Oregon Bounty festivities and then make our way back home.

*EDIT* Now that I think about it, Driving over Cougar Reservoir (like Garret, Doug, Jim and Jeremy have all done) might provide some tremendous color later in the season too

Or it could just be a photo day around PDX somewhere...I guess...maybe...

I would be interested in a photo day. I've looked at the photos some of you have posted and would like to learn some tips and tricks as well.
