Default New S2K owner!

Just dropping by to say hey! I just picked up my first s2k yesterday.

The weather is terrible for a first day drive >.<
Even still, I love the car a whole lot, so far!

Yep!
From Corvallis?
His car had been on Craigslist for a little bit.

He's a cool guy. I was happy to work with him in buying the car.
Do you know him?

Not trying to start a debate, but I feel this is greatly over-exaggerated in the S2000 community. Try owning an 91 MR2 Turbo, now that was scary! Granted the S isn't as easy to bring back as say a Miata, but it's still controllable...perhaps it should be said, don't lift mid or during cornering at high speeds, and if it does come out, don't apply the brakes!

^ think you hit the nail on the head, lots off new s2k owners are not familiar with it and don't know what to do when it comes loose. That gets them into trouble. Never really driven a mr2 to know what that's like to compare.

Welcome to the community! I've had the s2k's rear end slide around the side of me before, but I was on ice - I thought it was fun! Just do some counter steering and stay calm and you should be good
