Default New Tire experiance

I went to get my new non-summer tires at American Tire today. I went with Yoko's AVID V4S. They were very busy today. It was a long wait to get the car done. I drove home in the rain, and the car felt a little odd. When I got home and got out of the car and noticed that the front tire seemed very wide. I looked at the back, which looked very narrow. So I went to the other side and they looked right, so I grabbed my flashlight and checked the markings on the sidewalls. The right side were correct. I walked over to the driver side and guess what, I had 205 on the back and 225 on the front. It was only a couple of min until they closed so I hopped back in the S and zipped back to the store. I pulled up and was met in the parking lot by one of the techs. I showed him and he said, "oh we just need to rotate the tires." I told him I thought the tires were on the wrong wheels.

After getting the car in and having them look at both sides several times they realized that they had put the wrong tires on the wrong wheels. They are now fixed. I will chalk the mistake up to being very busy. They appoligized several times.

I just wanted to share this little story with all of you, so lesson to learn from this is check the tires before you leave the store.

No shit dude - that's like death waiting to happen. Do you put those on your stock wheels or did you get a second set?

I would make them do a 4 wheel alignment if I were you. I am sure that the alignment is fine but there is a chance that it was thrown off by the wheels being that way for x amount of miles.

That is scary and good thing you noticed

they don't do alignments at American tires, and it was only about 3 miles of driving total.
