Man, all you guys who only have to replace 2 tires at a time make me jealous.

I've had the car 35k miles and i'm about to put my 3rd set of tires on. Both times I've had to replace all four at once. Here I figured I'd be going through 2 sets of rears for every set of fronts, but nooooo.

I have to keep reminding myself the steel belts are NOT traction devices.

I only get about 14K miles on mine, 15K if I push it. I have to replace all 4 each time, I haven't had the luxury of being able to replace 2 at a time. However, I am trying out the "40K miles guarantee" tires, they drive OK, they are a little stiffer than what I'm use to, but they've been working fine so far, but I haven't had a chance to push them. I'm curious as to what they will do for me when I go back at <20K miles and they are worn out.

We'll see how these tires feel once the weather warms up a bit and I'm driving a little more agressively.

Ya that's the problem with "x" miles guaranteed tires. they aren't as good as normal tires because they're built to be so durable. they'll be harder and rougher ride. Not as high perfomance too i'm sure. But let us know what ya get out of 'em! I you get like 30k it may be worth the sacrifice.

I'm using the Falken 912's as my winter tires and got better performance than I expected out of them for being an all season and having the 40k warranty.
About the warranty, I read somehwere that have to show that you maintained the tires properly (i.e. tire rotations). That may be a little difficult for the S.

I never got more than 12K on the rear set.

Had the Hankook s2's last and their wet traction went from marginal to miserable as they got thinner.

After driving a couple of cars with Goodyear F1 DS3's I decided to try them. Have a rep for good wet traction with reasonable noise and comfort. A bit more expensive but it is easier to spend 600 on a known product than 450 on one that is a gamble.

Nah,,, but there's a difference between 11 and 17.5. ... same two months, just more driving.

Luckily, i've got a set of Ecsta MXes coming into Discount for me next week. I'll have new tires by next Saturday.
