That sucks man!

I see crate engines all the time with low miles for half the price your talking about. I am sure there is enough knowledge here to make an engine swap an at home project!

UPDATE:

PSI can put in a built engine (Golden Eagle) for the same price as the dealership can put in OEM. Apart from the 4-6 week delivery time , any reason not to go with the built engine?

Did they talk about longevity at all with that engine?

wow sorry to hear all misfortune. I'm with Brian on this one if you plan to keep the S for the years to come rebuilding with stronger parts would be a great choice. Also everyone knows once you go boost, you don't go back

My exedy setup has about half the pedal pressure of similar ACT's and is more than capable of supporting my 370 whp.

I should be on the next drive on the 23rd if you want to see what my clutch feels like. For your power levels though you could probably get away with just an aftermarket street disk with oem pressure plate. Also what was the crank play measurement? As long as it is less than .014" you should be fine.
LOL, they just told me the walk was about 1/8" = .125" or about 10x what it should be

and the winner is....

built engine from Golden Eagle, new pumps, clutch bypass startup switch, and new stock clutch until I am brave enough to turn up the boost. Prob add an extra quart of oil just in case. Now the wait - engine is 3-4 weeks out!

Thanks, everyone, for your support and empathy! I really appreciate it!
