Radar Detectors and the Police
Here is a thread over on the Law Enforcement forum about radar detectors, cops and what they think about them: Here

I just got done reading that. It was pretty interesting. They remind me of a family friend, he's a cop. And I don't really like him just the fact that he like to abuse the fact that he's a cop. I see cops doing 90 all the time. Matter a fact I was doing about 50 today in a 45 and this cop zoomed pasted me and disappeared in seconds..
Mine seems to work the few times I have had it on. I only take it out when I think I may be going to go faster than the limit. I use mine in the Insight and truck MAYBE three times a year. The one in the S is always on, but just because I have it hard mounted, not plugged into the lighter. I would leave it put away as well except the wire would just be sitting there and that looks goofy. I just don't speed, that's the bottom line.
Now if we are travelling, that's a different story. Even then, I rarely am doing over 10 MPH over the limit except through Southeastern Oregon. We have 122 miles we need to pass through to get to Nevada. Over that distance we pass through four towns. It's seems a little rediculous to me to have a speed limit of 55 MPH when you won't see another town for 50 miles. Seriously, we will go an hour between towns and the speed limit stays at 55 MPH.
