Funny little story this morning on my way to work...

I was enjoying the top down this morning and as I approached a red light with some cars waiting at it. I hear a car behind me in the other lane attempt a very poor rev-match downshift. It's a late 80s accord with some terrible sounding aftermarket exhaust on it. When the light goes green the cars start to move and as I drive off, the accord accelerates really hard. Dunno if he was trying to show off or what (there are cars in front of us, he has nowhere to really go).

Then he goes to shift to 2nd and grinds the tranny so bad I thought MY tranny was going to be damaged by it too. Seriously 3 seconds of ground beef echoing across the road.

I laughed hard.

Does anyone else ever notice a high pitch whine when theyre decelerating from 30-0. Ive noticed my car does this in 1st and 2nd gear from the time i got it. I know its not likely the diff as it doesnt get louder as i gain speed and is only present in 1st and 2nd when stoping. It sounds like its coming from the front of the car and i think its only present while in gear, with the clutch engaged.

I just changed the diff fluid, and there were not metal flakes and the fluid looked very good.
Do you have a light weight fly wheel? and or how many miles are on your trany?

I just got back from a hospital visit for a killer painful kidney stone.
Never had one? I don't recommend it.

I don't think I've ever felt anything that hurt more, and that was only because it just didnt STOP hurting. No throbbing, pulsing, just constant non-stop pain. Even vicodin didn't help.

But now I'm home and doped up on stuff I dont even remember the name of and feeling pretty good waiting for it to pass...wooo.
