^well in short, you are basically doing dog mountain twice in one run, with slightly worse terrain. 5000 ft elevation gain in 6 miles up is no joke, but doable. its the 6 miles down that steep decline that just pounds away at your knees. my left knee looks like a grapefruit right now. 4 hours up, 3 hours down -- trail head to summit, summit to trailhead. doing it in the summer is fine, trying to do it in early or late winter and you are hip deep in snow near the summit.
Are there any hikers/climbers amongst us? I am looking for an experienced partner to summit Mount Adams with. Must have experience with crampons and ice axe. Please PM me if anyone is interested in going. I am looking to go towards the end of August. Thanks!

I was thinking we need to do another drive, but something a bit more local.
I kinda wanted to do a quick stop in at the Tigard C+C (maybe September 20th? Gotta run that by the better half first) then run through some of my favorite roads around the westside of the valley, through Newberg and some stuff north of Forest Grove and Hillsboro.
Thoughts?
