Default Rear-end swaps

So the V8 s2000 project has not died. I've just been busy with classes and family crap. However this coming term I decided to take an automotive elective so I could have an excuse to work on my project. With this being said I need to start looking into rear-end solutions. Goal for the engine is no more than 500hp. The torque curve would top out around 3500-4000rpm. However I keep hearing the ap1 rear diff is trash. So keeping in mind that I dont want to spend a ton but still need to have a reliable rear what does everyone suggest. The DIY kits I've seen for some of the rear ends are priced out in space. However the 300zx diff does look like it may be affordable.

AP1 diff will not hold up. AP2 will do better but no guarantee. PuddyMod has OEM re-built to handle big HP but is costly........though bolts right up!

Yeah I know about the puddymod. I just think running either a Vette Rear or a ford 8.8 is way cheaper. And can hold tons of power. Bolting it up is simple. Just need to make a template and cut something out to work with the oem mounting location. The fuel tank is going to be removed so Space is no issue
