Default S2000 in 2009

I ask this question because I simply just don't know. Who runs the show in Oregon? I am amazed at how well organized it is as I have seen in this section. I must say I am extremely impressed and want to get involved.

I want to do more. Many people probably don't remember "Club Sol" but it was the largest Honda club of its time dedicated to del Sol owners from 1994 to 1999. It was my creation. We had 25+ chapters around the world and thousands of local meetings including 2 national meets. There were 30,000K plus members and 1500ish paying memberships. This was back when the Internet first started, I spent a lot of time on it back in college.

When S2ki first started up, I actually lended the founder a lot of advise. He was familiar with Club Sol. But... kids got in the way of life, I gave it all up. I'm interested in getting involved again locally as much as I have time for. I admit that I just don't have all that much time but I would like to be involved. I had actually considered an S2000 club of my own but by the year 1999 there were just way to many people already starting up such adventures (such as this site and others, did you know that this site was not the first S2000 club, there was another first and everyone bailed off it for s2ki and so it was born and I have been here ever since).

What can I do to help?

My kids are older now and I want to be more involved.

User #292 - impressive.

Lots and lots of drives now. When I joined in 2005 it was hard to get 10 cars together. Now, they seem to be driving all over the state every weekend.

How do you want to get involved?

Hi Todd,

Well, Aaron and I are co-Community Organizers so I guess we are guilty as far as who runs the show.

If you would like to get involved, the first thing you should do is to sign up and participate in our events.

In three weeks we have a beach party. Here

In four weeks we have a drive to Bend. It is a two-day drive but we have some one-day options for you. Here

Our biggest drive is coming up in August. Here

The September drive is closed as is the October drive, but we do have a waiting list for the October drive. Here

We are also likely to have our fall Detail Day - details to follow later.

We look forward to meeting you!

Larry and Aaron

In addition to the "official" drive list that Larry posted there are often drives organized by the various other members. Keep an eye on the Oregon forum and you'll likely see drives pop up on a regular basis.

Before you volunteer to do too much you might want to get to know us first. We can be picky and demanding sometimes, and Larry has set a rather high bar for organized events

I'll admit I am envious on how well things are here as well. I troll these forums quite often. I was born and raised in Oregon, so I know all the roads you take. I sit back here in Oklahoma saying to myself how cool it would be to take my S2K on this road or that road. Good times for sure...

As a result I decided to take a road trip back to Oregon to visit my friends and family. I'm budgeting my time there to travel the good scenic "S" roads. Ya'll keep up the good work!

There are 2 other non- "official" events comming up.

July 5th we have the Photo night that Amy has organized. This would be a great time to get to meet a large portion of the group and spend some time with other owners.

Let us know when you are here and we can enjoy a spirited cruise around.

A requirement is living on the forums too :-)

Hi Todd, I am so glad that you want to get involved. Let me know if you ever want to get together, I'm on the Vancouver side as well, there's always room for involvement, especially for a guy that have owned 3 S's. Just let us know how you want to be involved. I know your brother Tim...great guy, and if you're anything like him, you'll fit right in with us, we like nice people.

Detail Day is usually at my house in the Meadow Glade area. We usually have them in April for Spring detail, and in October for Fall detail.

I would like to invite your wife to join us for my "Diva Drive" on Sunday, September 20th. She can sign up to be a "driver" or a "rider". Here's the link for that event: https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.ph...ic=706366&st=0

Also join our Facebook group here: http://www.facebook.com/s.php?init=q&q=tod...91139876&ref=ts

We are very lucky here to have Larry and Aaron as our CO's, they're the BEST. They are very organized and make sure that we all have a great time together. I hear from everyone all the time that we have the best and the most organized group. Our drives are so great that they got too big with the Seattle and the Canadian guys coming down for our drives, now we have a limit on most of the drives, so look for the ones that you want to join in and sign up early.

Thanks for the responses guys!

I'm going to do my best to get to this photo shoot tomorrow and get to the Mt Saint Helen's run. I'll try to talk with you all then.

I miss my old PIR and AutoX days, does the Oregon crew hook up with say the BMW and Porsche clubs to hit the track?
