An S2000 Funeral Procession
One of my fellow CO's is a regular customer for the "S" pins I make.
Lainey contacted me last week needing a dozen silver pins for a funeral. One of their members died of cancer last week. I sent the pins off by Next Day Air and they got them in time for the funeral.
Here is her thanks:
[QUOTE]Thanks for the quick service on those silver S pins.
One of our members who was only 58 years old was laid to rest wearing one on his lapel. Most of the other members at the funeral, we had about 14, were wearing S pins, either the ones I just bought or ones from previous purchase.
Those pins always go over well.
Never did we expect to form such friendships when we bought that little car.

RIP to Bob
Sounds like they are a tight group much like we have here.
That's a great thing they did for him and his family and shows an entirely different reason why the S is such a great car: Instant friendship.
I don't know of many other cars that make people chase others down just to wave and say hi. These sort of things take it that one step beyond "just another car club".

You're guys are right, this is a great group, I feel that I've made so many friends here. I'm sad to hear that not all the groups are like ours, as you guys have made my life rich in the last year.
I feel like I've known all of you for so long, but it's really been 1 year. Aaron and I were reflecting on this during the Stonehenge Drive, as it's both of our anniversary drive. It feels as if all of you have been a big part of my life for a long time, you guys have taken me in like family.
Thank you, each one of you have a special place in my
. I know that my friends outside of this group will never understand this, but I feel that my S2K has been the wisest purchase I have ever made.

I am not sure what I could say that has not already been said in this thread. The OR crew is incredibly welcoming. After only meeting the group a little over a month ago, I feel like I am hanging out with lifetime friends. It is amazing to me how something like a car can bring people together. I am so glad I decided on the S as I am not sure I would love the car as much if it were not for the OR group.
Hopefully none of us will have to deal with the loss of a member.

Larry, thanks for sharing that story. That was really sweet. I just want to say thank you to warm welcome Paul and I have received. It is so great that we have already made friends with such a good group of people in such a short amount of time. Group hug!

Thanks for posting, Larry. I had heard of Bob before. Sorry to hear about him passing away.
From my personal perspective, I have found this club to be awesome, no matter where I go. When I lived in Rochester, NY the Upstate club was amazing. When I moved to OR, you guys have welcomed me so well and I feel honored to be part of this club. When I went to PHL recently, the local chapter (6-7 cars) there came and met me for dinner at one of the famous cheesesteak places. When I was visiting FL, a couple members showed me a great time there too.
I feel that I love the S more because of the people that it allows me to associate to.
RIP Bob ..... VTEC often.
Thanks,
Abhi

This Oregon/SW WA has such a great group of people. I would also say that the whole car club is great. When I was driving down to Vegas with my sister in her civic and as we got there some car problems came up. I posted in the Las Vegas forum and asked for some help. A number of members offered to help. Thread
