Thanks for all the input already. I have a call into heatedseatkits.com and pm'ed Geoff & Dave. Waiting to hear back from all. Thanks Larry for all the info.

I contacted Kyle at Coach Automotive in Beaverton. They use a carbon fiber element from Katzkin. They have a 3 year, 36000 warranty. Wholesale price for 1 or 2 cars is $495. If we get a group buy together, depending on how many, he can knock that price down anywhere from $395-$495. That would be for a complete install for both seats. Install time for them is around 3 hours.
He will also work up a number for me for a "carry out price" for those of us that feel that we can do it ourselves.

I will keep everyone posted when I know more.

Thanks.

Bill

Someone in the group said they rebuilt the side bolsters in their seats - I thought it was Aaron? Whoever it was, how was the experience of removing and replacing the leather?

Please add me to the interested list also. Have been thinking about this mod for a long time too.

I installed heaters from here....

http://www.heatedseatkits.com/index.html

I thought it is was fairly easy to do as I just cut the rings out and replaced with zip-ties. Did not think pulling the leather off was that difficult. Also I think it would be easy to replace or reinforce foam while they were apart, but would need to source replacement foam.

Also did not have a hard time with the wiring, but would need to review exactly where I tapped into for the switched power source.

Was a fun project for me that I did in a few evenings over the course of about a week.

Be happy to help others if needed. In for Bun-Warmer Day!

Best,
Dave

The midwest group did this a couple of years ago. The install info online does not look like it is too hard to do. We just have to take the time in getting the leather back on.

I am in as some of you know it is on my to do list for this "off season". I also do need to rebuild the side of the seat. There is a good DIY online for this and will do it when I have the leather off the seat.

I have been looking at the same seat heaters. I am not sure which ones are correct yet.

I left two messages for heatedseatkits.com today and haven't heard back yet. And Kyle from Coach Automotive didn't get back with me either. So no news there. I will bug them tomorrow.

I saw the that the midwest group did a install day for seat heaters and thought that was a good idea. And with Dave having already been through the process that is a definite plus.

Not sure what kit to order though. Dave, do you remember the kit that you used for yours?

Hope to have some answers tomorrow.

Bill
