I can tell you the concept if you want to know.
For the pro thieves, it's not a hard thing to do.

When my EM1 was stolen, I had 2 way pager alarm, backup battery, hood pin, clutch lock, steering wheel turns all the way to one side.
It's still stolen. My S is parked next to my civic untouch. My S does not have all those security at the time.

I also heard a car stolen with the steering wheel off and the ECU taken out.

Security would help but not a guarantee.

the normal rule of thumb is that security features for ANYTHING only keeps the honest people honest. If someone wants something of yours, they will take it. Be it with key, tearing through the top, breaking a window or jumping a fence.

Sad day in my world. I was naive to think that this would not happen in my area and more so to me. Everyone out there that reads this and if you have a passion for your car protect it as best you can and don't trust anyone around your vehicle. This past year I put much time into this car, in and out of the body shop trying to get every small scratch out and re-touch everything up. This last time I go her back the body was flawless not one ding or scratch.

RIP 05 GPW. YOU WILL BE MISSED VERY MUCH OLD PAL.!

So sorry to hear my friend. May the perpetrators be sought and brought to justice.

i drive my s2 everywhere as a daily, park anywhere theres traffic flow. but i would never park my s2 in a neighborhood or outside of a garage. i though the only way to steal a s2 was to tow it. but didnt think it would ever be that serious to tow a s2. someone must really wanted your car and probably been keeping an eye on it. i hope you find your car.. or i hope it was a prank played on you. kinda like those shows. overhauling or something.

but hey on the bright side. its better your car then your life like those struggling in japan right now.

I don't know - I don't think I subscribe to the normal rule of thumb. It seems too fatalistic - if you believe this, you might as well not lock the car.

I think there are things you can do to minimize your chance of having your car stolen and things you can do to thwart an attempted theft.

But, the guy who is out to steal a car for a joy ride is easier to dissuade with some precautions than is a professional thief who is out to steal a car for its parts.
