I bought the hood for a summer hood and I couldt think bout messing up a perfectly good color matched hood. So now I have a good hood to keep out water. That was the only reason why I bought it

the cooler the motor is the better it will run.
To a point yes. If you get the temp too low the engine will attempt to warm up and you will not have as much power. There is a range of temps that are best.

Normally we don't get temps that are low enough to cause the issue listed above. Unless you are out driving around in the very cold weather like we had last week using very low revs in the engine.

^ in which case we wouldnt really care about a loss in power, because its hard to drive in it anyway!

so i might sound stoopid, but i didnt know with the way the S is made if you can thermal wrap the stock hedder. i know you cant wrap cast cuz it will crack and i havent took the heat sheild off to look at what its made of. does anyone know or know where i can find out?
wrap it. The stock header is medium carbon steel. In which case has a low expansion rate and will not be as prone to cracking as stainless would be. My stock header is wrapped and i run it on the track. No cracking yet and i see exhaust temps on the track that you will never get on the street.
