Tire Recommendations
Well it's that time again. My rears are bald and badly need replacing. Driving home from Tacoma on Sunday evening in the pouring rain and gusting winds was one of the scariest driving experiences of my life. At times I found myself going up to 25 mph under the speed limit just cuz I was sliding everywhere.
Sooo ... this weekend I will be getting some new tires and want a few recommendations. Since I am going to be selling my car soon I am just looking for something fairly cheap but still an OK tire. Right now I am running Michelin Pilot Sport MXX3s.
Thanks in advance!

Sumitomo HTR Z...great price and they do well as a steet tires on the street...shave them down to 2/32" and they will do fairly well for dry track use too.

Can I get these at a local tire shop? How much will they set me back? Are they OK in the rain?

I don't know if you can get them at the local tires store, but tirerack has them for $61.00 each for 225/50ZR16 and $69.00 each for 245/45ZR16...

Have you tried Jim at the Tire Rack?
He knows the S well and what fits (offsets, etc.). He might have a recommendation for you.
Larry
Edit: Oops! Guess I was a little late.
