Default Vacation time!

What do you do to celebrate your retirement as CO of the S2Ki Oregon forum? You go on vacation! No, NOT Disneyland, but somewhere even more fun.

This time we are picking on another continent or two. So we’re off to a new adventure, starting in Europe and ending in Africa.

Rather than posting lots of pictures here, we will be posting them on a Kodak photo-sharing website each day or as connectivity allows. Feel free to follow along if you wish:

Tuesday, November 16 - Venice, Italy

Wednesday, November 17 - Venice, Italy

...Thursday, November 18 thru Saturday, November 20 - Mediterranean Cruise

...Sunday, November 21 - Arrival in Alexandria, Egypt

...Monday, November 22 - Alexandria, Egypt

...Tuesday, November 23 - Cairo, Egypt

...Wednesday, November 24 - Saqqara, Egypt

...Thursday, November 25 - Cairo, Egypt

...Friday, November 26 - Giza, Egypt

...Saturday, November 27 - Nile River cruise

...Sunday, November 28 - Nile River cruise

...Monday, November 29 - Nile River cruise

...Tuesday, December 1- Aswan, Egypt

...Wednesday, December 1- Aswan, Egypt

...Thursday, December 2 - Abu Simbel, Egypt

...Friday, December 3- Luxor Egypt

...Saturday, December 4- Luxor Egypt

Ciao!

This is what Venice, Italy should look like when you are here on vacation:

However, THIS is what it actually looked like from our “water bus” when we arrived yesterday:

Oregon weather!

The Venice airport is located on the lagoon about 40 minutes from Venice-proper. Of course there are no streets, so you must travel by a water bus to get downtown.

Once we checked into the hotel and had a nap, we headed out for some authentic Italian pizza. And, this is what we got:

Don’t ask…. Our Italian is apparently rusty!

Luckily the rain let up in the afternoon and we had a merely damp Venice. But, still beautiful as usual.

OMG, that pizza looks GREAT. My friend Cinzia use to make pizzas for me just like that, and never sliced it...just like that. None of my other friends would believe that's how you are suppose to eat pizzas.

Travel safe my friends, and have a GREAT time.
