Windshield Replacement
Got mine done in Beaverton at MS auto glass next to Carr Subaru on Canyon. They charged me 160.00 because they used my original windshield seal. Really happy with the results. This was the 3rd windshield in the car as the previous owner had put a PPG one in. The brand they used was fy auto glass. They do lots of work for honda, toyota.etc every car manufacture changes who does their windshields almost yearly. The phone number is 503-520-0606. Let them know a fellow S2k owner John got his done their in April 2010.
Let me know what you decide.

It wasn't so much the large impacts - they were mostly outside of normal viewing areas - it was really the lite abrasion across the entire windshield that bothered me.
And it had a crack that started a couple weeks ago when it got really hot

I got mine done early last year because it was badly pitted but mostly because I had a large chip in the middle of my line of sight.
My observations...
- the weather seal adds to the price and is important. I had mine done with the cheapest 'rain channel' seal and it is inferior in finish to the factory seal.
- price varies substantially with many trying for a final price just over $300. I found some just about $200 but if the factory seal is damaged on removal and a new one must be used the price goes up.
- the glass that meets standards and has the factory light green tint all seems to be about the same. I happen to get a PPG replacement but would have accepted another.
- The angle and height of our windshield makes it very susceptible to chipping so expect your new view to deteriorate steadily and just hope you don't have the bad luck of a big chip in your line of sight.
I was able to make my first one last ten years but the clear view is so nice I wish I had just spent the coin to do it every five.

My windshield was a pitted mess. I was actually gratified when I finally got a crack that warranted replacing it. SO nice to have a clear view again.
so I have:
Aaron - maybe
Bryan - yes
Garret - yes
Justin - yes - but car is out of order
spapdx - maybe
I will call and see what kind of price we can get on 3 to 5 units.
Post up if anyone is interested.
