Default wondering about turbo setups

I've been toying around with the idea of running some boost on my S. I know a few of you have turbos. I was wondering what all you were using. such as ECU, turbo, what manifold and ect.

Also If you could change anything what would it be? I figured why invent the wheel hit up the people who have already taken the leap.

Justin, have you checked out this thread yet? I think it has a lot of info on Brian's set up.

^ if your budget is tight, its gonna get tighter if you go FI. Be sure to set aside some $$ for some unexpected surprises on your way to boost nirvana. That said, I'm running the base pfab kit with gt30. I've done a lot of research and decided on this kit. I preferred the top mount look, pfab quality and reliability, excellent customer service with pfab, and power. There's more potential to the kit if you just want to upgrade the log to the eltm (equal length tubular manifold) later. I reached my initial power goal so I'm fine for now =) hondata cut me a break with their flashpro. Unfortuantely, the flashpro is only for 06+ s2000's. You'll have to go either aem or kpro.

be sure to have at LEAST $7K! unless your interested in picking up a greddy turbo kit I can hook you up.

you'd also want supporting mods - clutch/gauges/tuning/EMS/injectors/exhaust

you gotta pay to play! but once you go boost you don't go back

before I sold my 08 gti I was running 30 lbs of boost.... That was one helluva ride although FF sucks. Im In no rush to get it all on so Im going to get one part at a time. And Apparently My father decided to pick up a Pfab Top mount header Said he wanted to get me something in return for services rendered

Back on track. Im already looking into doing the clutch. And I can most likely do 90% of the labor my self. We have a car lift so that helps alot. My main goal is to not go over 350 hp.. I'm not looking for a rocket ship. I just wanna have a some more power. Was a head gasket needed? I've heard some people lowered the compression and some haven't. I assume that all depends on the psi ? I think I would be happy with 7-15lbs. Also thanks for the insight guys/gals

Get a clutch higher than you expect to go. Once you start to boost you will want to go highter and higher.

I am building my own whole complete kit as it saves tons of money and I have the tools to do it.

If you do alot of shopping around you can find good deals.

Alot of people will boost there car break something and then part it out. Bad for them and good for you.

Go check out the f/i forums always alot of projects there to inspire you.

I'm in the same boat. Looking for 300hp though. I dont trust myself haha. My main concern is emissions. Will it easily pass when its time for DEQ?
