Default Any1 know a good shop that repairs rims?

Got a flat at the gym, and took my car to the nearest shop, Firestone on 50 right in front of Fashion Square. I needed new rear tires, so it kinda worked out. When they put on my two new rear tires, they scratched each spoke of my rear rims. It looks as if they scraped off the clear coat. The manager there said that he would pay for the repairs on my rims. I just had to find a shop that would do it. I'd send him the invoice and he'd pay.

My question is, anyone know of a good, reliable place that would do this?

Sorry y'all, I've been lurking the boards recently, but haven't shown up to anything.

Thanks in advance!

(I got Potenza RE760's, but I don't like them. My rear swings out way too much on the twisty's with these. I was thinking of returning for RE050's or RE11's. Anyone with experience with either tire?)

Sorry to hear that!!! I've always stuck with RE 050A'S Pole Positions. I'm not able to help you with the rim repair recommendation, but after they are repaired and you are dreading the day that they need new rubber mounted on them, I do recommend:

After a mounting mishap awhile back, I always dreaded the day that I would have to put new rubber on my Volks.

OrlandoForums highly recommended a guy name Ryan that works at Tire Kingdom in Altamonte Springs.

Ryan used to work for an Infinity dealership and now has a clientele of Infinity owners that bring their cars to him for tire replacement, mounting and balancing.

He used protective cloths and treated my Volks as if they were his own. (He also uses Volks).

I highly recommend Ryan @ Tire Kingdom in Altamonte Spgs. for anyone who is cautious about the care of their wheels.

I checked the S2KI Resource Thread and it appears that this place called, "Olympits" comes recommended. I have not used them but "BZYRICE" likes 'em. So, I would feel confident about giving them a shot.

Good Luck,
Thraak

I have used them and they do great work. Might want to take someone with you who speaks spanish tho.

http://www.awrswheelrepair.com/usa_canada/...ns_florida.html

The first guy on that list, John Martin. He repaired a wheel for my boss's Mercedes and it looked great.

I second John Martin... my very good friend Dave Junkins used to own an AWRS franchise in Seminole County, and did fantastic work himself, but had to sell it because of his back... But John helped train Dave, and he always spoke very highly of Johns work...

That's where i'd go... er... well... he'll actually come to you and do it wherever you're at if you're local

Thanks guys! I'm going to call John and see what he can do. So he comes out and repairs them at YOUR location?

This is intriguing. I wonder how that works...

I really appreciate the feedback!

Yea.... he's got a big ol' trailer, fully equipped with tools to straighten wheels, clean them up, and even a mini spray booth inside for repainting them. Its an interesting setup

Sweet. I setup for him to come out either tomorrow morning or next Tuesday. Best thing is they are directly billing Firestone, as they have a national account with them.

I'll post pics up when I get a chance.

Thanks!
