I'm really surprised at all of this to be honest. I have hung out with Speedy and Maggie and plenty of Orlando people. Why has the Fl forum turned into a battle between O town and Tampa? Dont we all love S2k's and hanging out? Speedy you being at this meet isnt "supporting" it the point of coming is to have a good time. You will be missed. Glad you are making the Dragon. I'm still in shock at all i have read in here

we still haven't decided yet but definitely we will look into it so it wont be so far away for our sk2 members in orlando. this wont be until may 1st cause thats when the super meet is. but really looking forward to that they so we can all have a good time.

 

I haven't really been the most active on the boards or in the community as of late. Sorry to my fellow S2K'ers out in Orlando. Been busy with work, life, you know, the usuals. But I still read the forums and just browse to see what's going on. When I came across this thread, I had to post something.

I can't speak for Speedy himself as to what his personal feelings are, but it's really something for you to come in here and speak your opinion as to what a C.O. should be. As far as I can see, Speedy kept his thoughts to himself and had the courtesy of saying that it's a long story. Would you be happier if he aired out his personal business on this board as to why he's not supporting it? That would be, IMO, something that is out of line as a community officer. Whether he personally supports a meet or not is his opinion. He did not discourage anyone to go to this event, nor has he tried to sway anyone's opinion.

I really couldn't think of the Orlando S2K community without Speedy. Every event, every meet, he's there. Hell, Speedy's helped me out with my S more than anyone in this S2K community.

One statement you typed really sat the wrong way here. "Keep your observations and opinions private." This is a message forum. It's based off people's opinions and observations. If you have a problem with this, you should really re-evaluate yourself as to why you are on this forum. I'm sure YOUR CO has posted his opinion on something on this forum.

Speedy is MY community officer in Orlando. You don't have to worry about your "friends" in Orlando. I'm sure I can speak for us all when we say that Speedy is more than well qualified for being our community officer.

Sorry for threadjacking Jonathon, I just had to get this off my chest. I don't know all the details here, but from what I read in both threads, it just seems like an attack on Speedy for stating his opinion. If he won't support it, he won't support it. As you can see, it clearly isn't steering members from going.

Point taken, and thank you for your response, I fully respect and appreciate your comments.

My only rebuttal here is that Speedy IS my CO. He and and every other CO in this entire International S2KI Community has the responsibility to take pride in this position and use this to demonstrate maturity, leadership and encouragement. Perhaps my expecations are loftier than yours, as well as others. Nevertheless, I stand by my beliefs.

I do not belong to any distric, segmented, geographic, territorial postion within this Forum. Nor does Speedy. Just because I live in the Tampa Bay area does not mean that I am assigned here. Josh is still a CO anywhere he posts on this entire Forum. My "coming in here" is as much a right as is yours. Your words indicate that a segregation is visable and desired. I disagree and believe is a priority that needs to be removed, quickly.

Paying Members or guests, have the opportunity to post what they feel necessary to state. Thank you in advance for allowing me to respond to your posting.
