Default speeding Ticket in orlando

I came to orlando to visit Seaworld, it was a wonderful experience and what a beautiful city. the hotel we stay at was the omni and it was very nice. the food was great and the locals was nice. The outlet was right there too, making shopping very easy.

On the way back from orlando i was still admiring the buildings they have and i wasn't paying attention to my speedometer, but i pay attention to the car in front of me while looking at the scenery and i got clock in at 71 at 55 on I-4.

He gave me a lesser speed at 64 on a 55, that is only 9 miles more and will cost me $111.

why did he lesser my speed to 64 on a 55? anyone know why?

is it because if any speed greater than 10 i have to appear in court? or maybe i will have points violation if i drive more than 10 mph over the speed limit?

I check the ticket and it have me clock in at 71 on a 55 speed limit highway and the lane i was traveling on.

then he adjusted where it said actual speed to 64.

On the bottom of the ticket it said anything more than 15 mph may result in court appearance and points deducted from license.

I wasn't even trying to speed, just got unlucky. I was driving my ford focus too, i didn't bring my S down.

What Dave said. The reason he did that was just to decrease the fine on the ticket. Basically he gave you a break.

I once got clocked doing 80+ in a 55. I was super nice to the cop, said I was doing that speed, and he put me down for the same thing as you. Your original speed was still put on the ticket so that if you were to take it to court, the judge wouldn't do anything else for you since the cop gave you a break at scene.

Yeah...if you had gotten the ticket for 71 in a 55, I believe the fine would have been over $300.

and I think the law states (in Florida) you need to be going more than 30mph over the posted speed limit for a MANDATORY court appearance. That was the case 4 years ago for me in Volusia county.

I also know that it is only 20mph over in North Carolina ... i found that out 2 years ago.

Yes ... i realize I have a problem ... and I'm drinking more to help keep me off the streets.

I was running late for class and I got nabbed going 30 over... 75 in a 45 in a construction zone coming of the Causeway bridge in tampa and he brought it down to 74 to keep me from going to court and didn't mark the construction zone either.. I was nice to him and it was still something like a $300 dollar ticket... he told me, this is all I can do for you because you were really flying and this needs to be a lesson..

He knew you were out of town and was just being nice to you... I think it may be 10 over and it's 4 points.. 9 and under may be 3 points.. please correct me if I'm wrong... take the class and it might be something like a 80-90 dollar ticket...

don't fight it, pay the fine and be happy. if you fight it, the law will side with the law.

if you didn't aquire any points then the infraction was changed from actual speeding to something like 'failure to yeild to a traffic control device'.

or ... you just got lucky with a keying error at the courthouse!

either way ... no points is a gooooood thing
