Wake the Dragon 7
^ I understand that, during the regular Century ride, the organizers will not allow a newbie to do the 100 miler because it's too tough. I love spending a week riding in N.C. It's some of the best training. Last year I did a long ride at an altitude of up to 11,000 feet in the Rockies. That's a different sort of pain.

Booo.... non registered freeloaders FTL!!

I may or may not go as well, I didn't register for similar reasons, my wife and I have work schedules which had us likely unable to go more than 1 month out, I'f I'd known that someone was volunteering to pay our full registration fees on the off chance that we both might be able to bend our schedules enough to make it I would have gladly taken them up on the offer.

Different kind of pain? As in suffucation? A buddy of mine is riding the Rockies this year and tried to talk me into it, but with no altitude training I chose to pass...
