Kris, it sounds like you just didn't understand what "rebuilt" meant.

If the car was just in a minor accident it would not be "rebuilt", it becomes "rebuilt" only because it was "salvaged" at one point, which means an insurance company deamed it too much to repair. Which means it had a lot of damage, considering I've heard stories of $30k camry's getting $18k in repairs done, they need a good reason to salvage the car and it isn't a fender bender.

I doubt you have a warranty from Honda on this car, if you do you are very lucky, maybe they don't know it was salvaged??

It is possible that stark straightened the frame. I'm not sure if you are aware of the redliners.ca website, but JR autobody as well as a few other dealers in ottawa, MB Auto and a couple of others are owned by some shady folks according to the posters on that forum.

This is unfortunate, I know they were asking $24k for the car, which is an OK deal but hopefully you paid a tad less than that.

Never the less, if you enjoy the car it's up to you what you want to do, hopefully we will get to meet this coming spring, if it ever arrives!

It's unfortunate you had to learn about this NOW and not before your purchase of the vehicle. I wish you would have been on the forum before you purchased, at least you would have had a more informed purchase decision to make.

Well, when I talked to Honda when I was purchasing the car they basically said, if something went wrong, which was covered under the warranty and it was a fault of the accident, then it would not be covered (obviously)....but if it was a Honda default it should be covered....so here's for hoping there's some kind of Warranty!

Don't worry I did bargin with the guy, I got him down enough to feel that I didn't get completely ripped. Although, at the time, I thought I had an amazing deal, now I feel I paid for what it's worth I guess.

I wish you would have been on the forum before you purchased
Yeah...I wish I was on the forum before as well....lol. I still can't believe how much you all know about my car!

As well, you had mentioned something about the soft top being damaged....I'm not sure what they did after the accident....but it was a little dirty when I bought it....but I've now got it all cleaned up, and it's lookin great.

It wasn't damaged, it just didn't line up, maybe they adjusted the clips to get it to line up? Visually the car looked ok.

It seems to be lined up now....so all is good now....!

Just out of curiosity, how did so many of you see the accident? I assume you were on some kind of rally or race together?

Just a casual drive, no race.

Yep ^^^^^ 30 of us.

I thought that you could not get comprehensive insurance on a salvaged vehicle?

Were you able to?

Sounds to me like it was disclosed to you, so unfortunately it may seem like you dont have much to argue. Keep in mind that that salvaged title follows the car forever.

Insurance didn't seem to be a problem....I've got everything on it.

Was the driver badly injured?

The driver was a little shaken but not stirred.
