Well, I'd forgotten I have an appointment in downtown Seattle tomorrow after work so I can't pick the car up tomorrow anyway - so I left a voice message for the service advisor saying I needed to pick the car up tonight and to call & tell me what time it would be done - we'll see what happens! Thanks guys...

i know you're eager to get your car baby back, but all i gotta say is chill out.

the service kidz don't even go ga ga over the car anymore. they see many everyday. after that scott b incident, i assure you that stuff will never happen again over there unless someone wants to play against the rules and get fired.

what i think is going on is that they're understaffed. and before you go calling the other guys yahoos, go take some time to talk to them in person and figure out who's what.

parker is overloaded. it's not really doing him any good to say go see parker he's good. there's only one parker. i can see why he might be a wee bit on the late side.

i have no idea who your service advisor is, but like i've said time and time again...

talk to rick massei or michael edwards. but it sounds like since u got parker you didn't get either one of those dudes so i can't really do anything on your behalf to get the full story.

it might help to throw my name around. heheh

good luck, it'll be otay annie.

cheers,

Ben, you're so good to me... Maybe if CutieBonny saw this side of you she wouldn't be so mean...

Kathy & I had exchanged a few voicemails and I did reach her finally about 4:30-ish (so I may have talked with her before you spoke with them) - she told me that they hoped they could get the car done tonight. I'm not too worried about it taking until later than 6pm, just that I get it back tonight so it's not a three day process for a goofy warranty thing.

I guess I'm so paranoid hearing of all the horror stories at the "other" dealerships that I'm on the defensive whenever my car isn't done when they anticipated. I know they're busy, but I'd rather they tell me going in that it could take longer - I can stomach that a lot more.

And I know Parker's a really good guy - I never meant to imply he wasn't a good guy or that he was screwing around - I don't know the rest of those folks so I have to go off what I'd heard, and you're the first one who's said they've calmed down a bunch.

I'm just of the philosophy of underpromise & overdeliver rather than the other way around... I'm just glad I hadn't planned to sit & wait for it - that would have been a LONG day!

Annie

Gotta give these guys all the credit in the world - they pulled it together and my car will be done in the next half hour or so - woo hoo!!!

Banannie

Can I still use that little smilie since my car only goes to 8K?

Well, technically the smilie doesn't say what the redline is, so we'll just PRETEND it's 8k in your case...

Phooey. Gotta give thumbs up for tryin, but the little flippy door over the CD player (which works, thank goodness) isn't aligned right. Anyone have experience lining these bad boys up? I'd rather avoid having to take the car back in for another few days if it's an easy fix...

Annie - if it's the same as the earlier models - it's just just a matter of grabbing the door firmly on both sides near the hinges and wiggling a bit while pulling up.

The door will slide out... to replace or realign - just push that sucker back in!

This thread has more detailed instructions...
