Is this thread run by law enforcement? Seriously, why would you photograph cars and their occupants, along with license plates, and post them with time, date, and location?
Going forward, if you post on this thread please refrain from posting identifying information. In this day and age where everything is searchable into infinity, also by its overkill to post such specific info on what should be a "hey I saw a cool car!" thread.

I don’t have a problem with people posting my car and what not so I got no issues what is going on here. But before any rules get set, I’ve already sent a message to the site mods and CO for them to weigh in on the topic. You bring up a good point but I don’t see any rules that have been broken.

I personally see nothing wrong with it and think your blowing it a little out of proportion. This thread (been a new one every year) has been going for some time. If you have a problem because your car was posted click the report button or message me a link to the post and it can be deleted. I know there is other threads like it across the forum and it has never been an issue. Many members post pictures of their cars with the plates visible myself included. Again if your car gets posted and the plates are shown report it and it can be removed.

That's what I used to think, until I learned what is being done with data analytics and AI, and how circumstantial information such as this can be used as evidence to implicate you in things you have nothing to do with. It's not just about the plates. Even without the plates, time and location and vehicle photo are enough. Yes, it's rare that this happens, but it does happen.

Historically, the reason why some details of location are posted by the members here, is to allow the possibility of the car/owner in question to chime in and say "hey that was me". For new possible owners/people to the local forum its just a fun way one could be introduced to the community and for old owners its just fun. We have been doing these for many many years. I understand the concerns some may have to privacy, so as was stated if there is a specific case in question, bring it forth so it can be addressed.
