Default 30K Maintenance Ouch!

I just called Kirkland Honda to schedule my 30K maintenance (minus oil and filter) and they quoted me $457!!! This seems crazy. (Unless they actually have to adjust the valve clearance but this is done only if noisy and its not noisy.) Any place around here that does this service for a more reasoanble amount? Thanks -steve-

Has anyone done the 20k service? My "Maint Required" light came on, but I reset it. I would like to do the service myself.

RT's 30k service interval might have looked like this -
Inspect/Replace as needed:
Shocks
Springs
Reweld front a-arms to chassis

install 5th set of tires
install 5th set of brake pads
install 5th new front disk
replace differential
replace clutch/pressure plate
replace cracked windshield
replace diff, engine, transmission oils

Every 60k add -
new engine
new transmission

I'll figure out what my 30k looks like after I actually get there.

There is no prescribed 20K service. The light starts blinking 6000 miles after it is reset and then goes steady at 7500. Must have been from your last oil change. By the way I've decided to do my 30K myself. The only tricky thing would have been the valve adjustment but I don't hear any noise.

Jerry, Thanks. I looked at Helm Service manual (6-38,39) and it doesn't seem all that helpful on 'adjusting' the clearance. Basically says if it fails the 'wobble test' then replace the valve. It doesn't say what do do if the new valve isn't within service limits.

Also on 6-38 it looks like the block is removed to use their funky compressor attachment device. Also looks like there is a special valve guide seal remover tool but doesn't say what the part number is. I'm game to dig into this. Where do you buy all these specialized tools?
