I prefer fresh whip cream. The canned stuff tastes funny. Since whip cream topping is effectively two ingredients (granulated sugar and whipping cream), it doesn't make a lot of sense to buy an adulterated product. If you want to amp the booze ratio, just put it in the mixed drink.

You can also mix booze straight into the whipped cream when you're making it, provided you don't put too much. The can stuff is just easier for lazy people.

I feel the same about fresh whip cream, living in one of the worlds places that's know for incredible pastries (Switzerland) and having a mother that only made fresh whip cream can diffinetly spoil a guy.

I will tell you that given the choice, aerosol whip cream beats Coolwhip any day.
