I guess the former owner took off the 19's... It went to RennTech and got the carbon fiber intake and stainless exhaust. Still has the AMG monoblock rims... I didn't ask him about the $$$...
It's going to be cool. 400 hp *bling* ride. I like it.

Why white with camel? Gotta stick to silver with the Benz unless you're a thug then you gotsta go black!
Looking up prices, one can be had for around $40-50K. Not bad for an AMG Benz. I thought they would cost a lot more than that, but turns out it's having a tough time holding resale value because it's in that odd spot where the people who can afford them either go for a the latest and greatest German ride for a few more or just don't care to spend so much dollars for a used car with a design that's outdated, too niche, and out of warranty.

I guess the E55 was the wifes ride. They traded it on a new E500 and after having the E55 she felt the new 500 was too slow! Now the E500 is back at Renntech for some more go-power.
That's a pretty good deal for a car like that. We saw an CLK55 out at Park Place and they wanted way more than $50K for it...
I can only dream at this point...

The "problem" with the newer generations of AMG cars is that they're no longer purely AMG. AMG is no longer the independent tuning house it once was. Now it's the in-house Mercedes equivalent of the M group at BMW. Still make mean cars...but NOTHING like the old AMG Hammer.

The Hammer truly was a beast! Times have changed a little, though. AMG massages the motors now (instead of beating them into submission) and the newer models are more about sport styling than sport motion.
Don't get me wrong, if I was gonna own a Mercedes I would DEFINITELY save the pennies for an AMG. The new SL55 is a work of art. Mercedes has started a renaissance in their styling. They haven't made cars this sexy since the old 300SL Gullwing days...

I would probably pick the 911 GT2, but that's just cuz I've always been a Porsche fan. The SL55 would probably be my second choice, though, and would get bonus points for being a drop-top...
