Default Anyone in NW done the clear headlight conversion?

I really like the look of the clear headlight conversion, especially for my silver. Has anyone in the NW done this "home" version with the heat gun, etc? I can't see spending @ $900 for a completely new set, yet don't have the gonads to take of the front fascia of the car, take a heat gun to the lights, and hope I don't screw something up. Ideally, I would like to either find someone to help with my installation (I will pay for their time), or get a few guys together and do their cars at one time (with the hopes that if you have two or three people someone will know what they are doing).

Four NW owners have cleared headlights, I am one of them. I am more than happy to help you, but you'll need to commute up to Seattle. The only portion of the install I will not do, is the prying apart of the headlights themselves. It requires a lot of patience and I've sliced my hands up pretty bad every time I done it. Let me know.

Hey Jerry,

I'm planning on doing the conversion this weekend. What type of glue/silicon do you recommend to reseal the lamps?

It will probably be a full day project. MKH can tell you which silicone we used on his (the 2nd time) or I can post once I get home and tell you which one I used.

I would be happy to come up to Seattle--I think it would be great to get a couple of other people who want to do it as well. Maybe kill a couple of birds with one stone...

Let me know when you'd like to do this. We'll have an install day over at my place.

I can make it up any weekend that's convenient for you. I appreciate you offering your time and place. Please either email me or post a time that works for you. I will get the Silver Streak ready for the trip. Plus I still need to get more miles on the car before its broken-in. A nice Seattle trip would greatly help in that effort.

Probably next weekend then. Its 179 miles from PIR to my place, so I am sure you'll tack on some miles. We may be having an event at my place that weekend, so I'll let you know next week.
