Default Attention all AP1's

Last night around 8p.m. I was driving down I-5 from Bremerton to see a girl friend in Tacoma. When all of a sudden I see a State Patrol doing his radar thing. I pass him going 65mph thinkin' I'm alright. Well I was wrong he caught up to me, cruised behind me on the other lane. Then wAm...lights came on. I'm like damnit, I'm gonna get canned for having a loud exhaust and a test pipe. He comes to my passenger window and tells me why he pulled me over. "You know your TAILLIGHTS are illegal?" Thank goodness my exhaust was super dirty.
I'm like "Are you serious?" "This car comes stock like this from the factory." He then tells me about how the part on our taillight where it has the white light. "In the state of Washington it's illegal to have white lights...you're going to have to buy either amber or red bulbs." Again, "These come stock like that." Obviously, it didn't get through his head. "Well it's illegal get it fixed." Does the usual license regristration. Sat in the car for 5mins, came back and gave me my stuff back. I get out the car to see what he was talkn' about and we start talkn' about S2000's. Finally, after talkn' for a bit I told him I gotta go. Pulled out praying he wouldn't pull me over again cause my exhaust was pretty loud getting back on the highway. Overall pretty cool guy. So, this is just a heads up for you AP1 brothers out there...Sorry this was long.

Yeah, it didn't "come from the factory" as white. The taillights came from the factory as red, and then (on the MY00) faded.

The backup lights are white, as are all backup lights.

It's not clear who is being the dufus here -- whether you are driving around with faded taillight lenses or the cop can't tell the difference between backup lights and tail lights.

Another thing to check: you don't have some electrical glitch that is turning your backup lights on while driving, do you?

Replace my taillights a few months back. I just went to work and check my vin# and it fell in the recall thing. So honda replaced them for free. PM me your vin if you want me to check.

The backup lights are white, as are all backup lights.
I was thinking he meant the reverse lites as well.
