Are you still running the AP1 stock valve train? If so a common upgrade is ap2 valve train (leaving the cams the same of course). The ARP studs are a good idea as well as that some easy insurance. From what I have read and the setups I have seen the OEM engine can handle quite a bit if the tune is right. I would maybe look at getting the diff worked on some as well since the car will be down. But yeah of your options I would do the OEM gasket, ARP studs and AP2 valvetrain and then maybe send the diff to puddymod just to stay ahead of any issues there.

when using ARP studs is anyone tq'ing the bolts to the spec that ARP clals out or honda specs?

in the past ive seen a handfull of BHG's when using arp studs and tq settings with a factory gasket. makes me think that the tq setting needs to be right for the gasket not the bolts.

That’s a good question, one that I haven’t seen come up in recent memory. I personally didn’t divulge into that aspect of my last engine build with my builder. That would be a good question for him. My inclination is that with the use of the OEM gasket, that it would be best torqued to OEM spec instruction.

what i saw was people with b16's using the studs and tq-ing them to the arp spec, which was like 145 ftlbs or something outrageous for a stock gasket. i cant see arp knowing anything about your gasket of choice (OEM, MLS, eabay-wonder etc) and why they would recommend that tq setting out of the box

I have wondered about E85 as well around here. As for methanol I know Junky runs a homemade system and I think he uses windshield wiper fluid. Correct me if I am wrong Junky. I also remember seeing this stuff on one of those spike tv shows for use in a water meth system. With a name like boost juice how can you go wrong? http://www.jegs.com/i/Snow+Performan...40008/10002/-1

Yep there is quite a few different water/meth injection systems out there which employ a variety of fail safes and different features such as single/ multi nozzle, progressive or pulse type injectors and staged systems. Methanol or denatured alcohol is used and can be found at paint stores/home depot, HEET at the auto parts store can be used. Then it’s just a matter of mixing you water ratio. 50/50 is typical but not the rule. Windshield washer fluid is great because its available and cheap and typically about 35% meth right out of the jug and the rest water so just a spike with a couple bottles of HEET getting you to 50/50 yada yada... this type of injection is a rather involved thing unto itself and more then I care to elaborate much more on. I posted several things in some of the injection thread in the FI section if anyone is interested in doing some research on their own. Best thing to do is research it and ask questions from there. I will say it’s extremely effective if you set it up right and it is easy to run once you have the system hooked up, better yet it’s versatile - Race gas tune without the race gas price or inconvenience of finding it if you want a similar benefits for the street.

We don’t have readily available E85 here.

We have E85 on base here in Fort Lewis lol barely anyone using it unless their car is capable of running them. If I boost and decide to ever go E85 I'm good. I have been debating a lot to either slap on my TrackForge kit or not and still up in the air a lot also. If spring time hits and I don't sell it, then it's defintely going on. I'll be taking my S to PSI for tuning purpose though I don't really trust any tuners out here for that and have heard different stories from everyone that has tuned around here so far.
