Default Brake/Rotor recommendation?

I think it is time for me to change my brakes!

I was thinking of getting something that does not dust much, no noise, yet performs pretty well. Basically, I am planning on mostly driving around town, with MAYBE a couple of autocross/lapping days once in a blue moon!

Any input will be appreciated, especially you autocross/track guys!

Stick with stock rotors (or Centric Premium), and for less dust, go with the ap1 pads. Upgrade to a high temp fluid (e.g., Motul RBB600, ATE Super Blue/ATE Type 200) and maybe some ss brake lines if you're going to be in there changing the brake fluid (doing a gravity bleed).

I assume you don't really have any issues with the stock setup save for the dusting of the ap2 pads?

If you get into high performance driving of some sort on a course and become fast, then you can explore different pads at the time.

Agreed. Stock rotors and pads are more than up to the task. Hi temp brake fluids and you're good for street and auto-x/PGP. On a big track - go with a track specific pad and you're golden.

Centric w/ OEM was what I was thinking. Whats the difference between ap1 and ap2 pads? I can use ap1 pad on ap2 without any issues?

I run the Centric Premium with ap1 pads on my '05 (made the switch back in November) . The ap2 pads dust considerably more than the ap1 pads, and your LMs will love it! I personally haven't noticed any performance difference on the street with the ap1 pads.

Hey sung. Check Science of Speed I just talked to them yesterday because I am as well in need of new brakes. Cetric makes OEM replicas with a few smart upgrades that Honda never thought of. 120 for fronts and 80 for rears and thats for a SET! With Hawk HPS+ pads. I wouldn't suggest steel braided brake lines unless your constantly tracking your car its more time/money especially if you dont know or feel comfortable in bleeding brake lines. I had them in my 500+whp hatch I can say it didnt do very much and an S2000 is even better setup. Hope this helps Sung.

Not saying it dosen't work but OEM fluid in mine now. Dont really feel that its neccessary unless the price is right. For sungs situation to make it basic and cheap keep fluids and lines and just theow on rotors and pads..maybe half an hour install with just rotors and pads.

Do not get the HPS pads. They are worse than the OEM pads. HP+ pads are an "ok" mild track pad, but they will dust.

OEM fluid is fine for everything except a big track.

ATE Super Blue is pretty cheap though.
