I went to ocean shores last weekend. If you want to avoid i5 south (I hate i5) go through gig harbor and shelton for a more fun route. Adds probably about 20min but you get to avoid i5 s.

so that sounds like a better route. Also I will revise my original post, but I'm gonna plan on stopping at the ridge for track day, then finishing the drive and camping out in ocean shores Saturday night. Then waking up and going to stance wars!
