FAQ update: Definitions
Definitions
There are a number of unusual words used within the PacNW posts. There are also a number of words with context sensitive definitions. This FAQ section is dedicated to dispelling some of mythology and will hopefully allow everyone to understand what in the world some of the other posters are (attempting to) saying.
ASSCLOWN - Someone who brings no meaningful value to the forum. See CUTIEBONNY aka YELLAFEVA.
ASSHAT - Someone who is participating in the PacNW forum but neglected to bring common sense, read the FAQ, listen to reason, or shut-up once it was determined they have no idea what they are talking about. See DONBOB.
AUTOCROSS - Standing around a cold parking lot for five hours chasing cones that other drivers knock over. Your frigid endeavor is rewarded with less than three minutes of driving time where you often knock as many cones as possible to advertise your frustration at another wasted Sunday. A more concise explanation is avaiable in the Autocross Information thread.
BADGE - A small picture that is loaded with a user's signature line. It denotes membership with community. Most of the other clubs on S2ki.com distribute badges to anyone without much in the way of process. The PacNW region has a BADGE NAZI and you must fulfill specific requirements to obtain a badge.
BADGE NAZI - Person of perceived authority that makes you jump through hoops to get something everyone else gives away without thought. Reference the Dictator entry for CO.
BALLER - Someone with faux aires that believes anyone cares. They are not difficult to identify, they often adorn themselves with BLING, affix DUB-DUBs to their vehicles, and emulate popular music artists displayed upon MTV2.
BAN - An escalation by the Community Organizers because a user has violated the Terms of Service. This almost always occurs after warnings which request a behavior modification and an explanation of the offense. You will no longer be allowed to play in this sandbox when you are banned and your account will be deleted.
BENCH RACING - Comparing two concepts or vehicles without performing real world testing.
BLING - Items of excessive retail value which have no intrinsic value.
BUMP - Posting meaningless content to a discussion thread with the objective of moving it higher in the thread list. Obvious offenders type the word "BUMP". A pet peeve of at least one of the Community Organizers.
BILLY MCHALES - This refers to a now-defunct restaurant location at Factoria Mall. This is the most common start point for group drives as it supposedly offers a central meeting location with easy access to I-90 and I-405. In actuality, it is within five minutes of my residence and allows me to sleep in while everyone commutes to a meet.
CO - (see-oh) The local forum moderators. An acronym for Community Organizer. These guys do their best to promote goup activities amongst the various club members. Additionally, they attempt to maintain some semblance of order and compliance within the message forums. Locally there are two flavors: Dictator (JerryPeterson) and Communist (LIG).
CORNER - The default view of a discussion thread places 25 posts per page. This means that every 25th post will appear at the top of a page. Getting a CORNER is a key objective of POSTWHOREs. See also THE CORNER and WHORING.
CORNER MONKEY - VTECMOM's favorite POSTWHOREs from THE CORNER.
CHICKENMAN - RT's first born son, Elliot. He is referred to as CHICKENMAN because of his unusual dimensions. When lying on his back, Elliot resembles a de-feathered Arkansas fryer chicken.
CRASH - The eventual action of S2000 owners who forgo proper high performance driving instruction. This action often results in financial loss, increased insurance rates, and endless ribbing by the other board members who don't CRASH. A common yet poor tactical choice by many who CRASH, is to avoid fessing up to the incident. Sorry, we usually know when somebody CRASHes before they receive an insurance estimate.
CRAZYDRIVE - A group drive which more or less is a controlled point-to-point street race. There is usually a lunch break in the middle.
CROSS-THREADING - An specific form of thread HIJACK. To CROSS-THREAD properly, you must first start a topic in another thread, and continue the conversation on a second thread. Both incidents may be a HIJACK, but the start of the CROSS-THREAD may be the intended topic in the first THREAD.
CUTIEBONNY - Was a male user (YELLAFEVA) posing as a female user (CUTIEBONNY) in the PacNW forum. Also known as BONNY, this user would login with multiple accounts from Lake Washington Technical College and AOL dial-up in violation of the S2ki.com usage agreement. Was BANned by JerryPeterson after a brief investigation. New users with posting characteristics similar to this user are referred to as BONNIEs. SILVERKNIGHT and SPA4EVA are often confused with CUTIEBONNY dispite having no relationship with the latter. VTECMOM still insists that she met BONNY but doesn't realize the user was probably in drag.
DONBOB - Username: Celica2000Speed. RICER, ASSHAT, STREET RACER... Notably held onto the FENDER ROLLER for almost a year. Dude, just read the thread here
DUBS or DUB-DUBS - (dumb or dumb-dumb) Wheels with a 20" (DUB) or 22" (DUB-DUB) diameter. These have no chance of properly fitting on an S2000 but BALLERS still try. Often the OFFSETS are not even remotely correct.
DYNO - Abbreviation of the word dynometer. This is an instrument that measures the output of a vehicles drivetrain. Mistakenly considered the ultimate authority for participants of BENCH RACING sessions.
ETERNITY - On a 100 degree day at Thunderhill Raceway, an ETERNITY was defined as precisely 0.562 seconds. As a result, time can be measured in ETERNITIES. For example: Lig is two ETERNITIES slower than JERRYPETERSON at Sykart on any given day.
FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions. Example: Which is the best exhaust for my car? Which is normally followed by the question: "Why does everybody treat me like I'm an ASSHAT?"
FCUK - French Connection United Kingdom. Overpriced sweatshop manufactured clothing.
FENDER ROLLER - A mechanical device that applies pressure to the inner fender liner of a wheel well. This provides additional clearance for wheels with incorrect fitment. Follow this thread for Rental pricing and related but useless banter.
FS - For Sale
GROUP DRIVE - A member meet where everyone gathers to drive to a destination.
HIJACK - Starting another discussion topic within a thread that has absolutely nothing to do with the original topic. Skillful application of this tactic is considered an artform in the PacNW.
HPDE - High Performance Driver's Education. Perhaps the single most effective insurance against CRASHING. Essentially you wake up at the crack of dawn and are subjected to a battery of exercises which reveal you have absolutely no idea how to operate a motor vehicle.
HYPE - Building excitement for a topic with fictional data points or false pretences. Also see JERJER.
JDM - Acronym for Japanese Domestic Market. The term refers to products sold within Japan proper, but RICERS believe that when these products enter the United States they trancend from 'worthless' into 'Formula1'. Typically characteristics of these parts are shoddy workmanship, egregious marketing claims, gender questionable colors, and price tags measured in thousand dollar increments. Most stock equipment works far better than the JDM equivelent.
JERJER - RT's personal pronuciation for the username: JerryPeterson. This appears to be an allegory with respect to the Star Wars character JarJar Binks. He is implying that we share some personality characteristics such as plucky demeanor, vacuous topic contributions, and a general disconnection from reality.
KART - A small tube metal chassis with a lawnmower engine. Small cars that result in major bragging.
MANISHA - The user TUKLUC once dressed in drag in an attempt to join a girls only drive. Nobody was fooled, but the pictures... oh the pictures.
MOMMISH - Conjugation of the words MOM and ENGLISH. Actually bears no resemblence to either. This is VTECMOM's deranged and unreadable posting style. This unique attempt at the English language incorporates many features including the mis-application of slang terms, misspelling, the utter absence of punctuation, no discernable grammar structure, and generally no point. JerryPeterson has demonstrated some ability at deciphering this "language" but VTECMOM always insists that the translated version (while correct) doesn't mean what she meant... exactly. You get the idea hopefully.
MONKEY - A term used by VTECMOM to claim ownership of favored board members. Apparently a sign of familiar affection, many are puzzled why they must be referenced as a smelly, sh!t tossing, flea infested mammal from a lower rung of the evolutionary ladder.

OFFSETS - The S2000's suspension requires that wheels have an unusual fitment. Offset is a measurement of the distance from the imaginary centerline of a wheel to the point at which it is affixed to the hub. Nearly all aftermarket wheels do not fit the S2000 properly and deviations of -25mm or more qualify your vehicle as a SWAMPBUGGY.
OLDIES - Any user who is older than WRS2K in age. As a member of this board for nearly six years, he is slowly running out of people to call old.
PACNW - Shorthand for Pacific Northwest Owners Club. Founded in 2001.
POSTWHORE - Someone who posts threads or replies without any meaningful content.
PM - (pee-em) Acronym for Private Mail. Once you create a login on S2ki.com you have the ability to send and receive messages. New users often expect immediate turn around on sent messages. Long time users often ignore received messages.
PWA - Acronym for Post Whores Annonymous. As further evidence of their dementia, Post Whores think that advertising their status will improve relations with the rest of the forum.
RICE - Useless modifications to an otherwise functional car. These are often a JDM-style part.
RICER - One who strives to place as many useless parts on their vehicle under the double self-delusion of performance improment and customization with the intent to bed underage Asian women. Often found STREET RACING, and they usually believe they possess proficient driving skills. PITA - Acronym for Pain In The Ass. This is a liberally applied nickname for VTECMOM by the user RT.
ROFL - Yet another acronym... Rolling On the Floor Laughing. This is the typical reply to a post that is humorous. The humorous post is typically the reply to a poster would just demonstrated the qualities of an ASSHAT.
SIGNATURE - An often abused personalization feature. The signature line for a user is personal space to include pictures, quotes, links, and false bravado. This is a block of content that is appended to your first post in every thread.
SPACENEEDLE - Username of an original board member prior to getting banned. "Pulling a SPACENEEDLE" is now defined as posting to the board in a belligerent manner while intoxicated.
SPAM - The typical thread reply generated by a POSTWHORE. Actual cash value is less than a Taco Bell "buy five bean burritos, get one free coupon".
STREET RACING - Using public roads to drive at excessive speeds in competition with other mentally challenged individuals. You may reference the feature film "Fast and the Furious" ad nauseam.
SWAMPBUGGY - The end result of a notorious WTT deal between John Chan and Subzero. Aftermarket wheels without the proper OFFSETS often cause the wheel and tire to sit an inch or more outside the wheel well. The end result makes an S2000 appear to be a CJ5 Jeep equipped with mud tires.
TACOS - An abbreviated reference to the weekly drinking meet at the Redmond Azetca.
THE CORNER - A safe haven for POSTWHORES. You may lower your Intelligence Quotient by following this forum link.
