Default Gas light

Just curious how far you daredevils push the mileage when the gas light comes on. Ive been able to go roughly 30 miles from when the light illuminates. Anyone ever drive til the car died?

Only 10 miles past the light. I'm chicken. Don't want to be one of those guys in the side of the road. Plus I'm picky on the kind of gas I put in. The most I filled up was 10.75 gallons. Not bad for a 12.5 gallon tank.

I've driven south of Tacoma to the Burien / Seatac area on the gas light; at a steady speed.

Fuel tank capacity - (13.2 US gal) 50 L

11.9 gallons.

No idea how far with the light on, though. It seems to go on around 10.5, so you should be able to get ~50 miles if you drove carefully. I know I've gotten at least 35 miles.

buy some gas you cheep bastard.

note: the fuel pump typically uses fuel as coolant. this works when its in liquid form, not vapor. So its not such a great idea to run the tank so low.

i do realize that like 99% of in-tank pumps sit in a coffee can sized "hole" to keep fuel pooled around it but still. something to be cognizant of.

LOL! Its not the fact of buying gas. I, personally, dont really care to complain about gas prices. Everyone notices and has something to say about how the gas prices go up. Its all inevitable. Everyone's gonna complain yet everyone is still gonna have to fill up regardless.

The factor here is more laziness than being cheap.

Knowing I have atleast 30 miles left when the light comes on, it still makes me nervous about it being on. I have to drive through Canada to get back into the states to get to where I work so poor planning equals low gas equals nervous driving through Canada to get "cheaper" gas when entering back into the states. Well, I guess in my case, you're right, hahahahaha, Im cheap so I dont wanna stop in Canada and buy their "expensive" gas.
