Getting 00 silverstone this weekend
I'll be picking up my car this weekend. Just wondering about where you guys service your cars in Vancouver? The car I'm buying has a lot of Spoon stuff. Will the air filter, exhaust or throttle body effect my warranty? Any of you guys seen this car? It has 18 snipers painted black. I'll probably refinish them back to original or get some new rims. I think a lot of the work was done at REV.
I've been wondering about servicing as well... My S2K is only three weeks old, and already I am having bad experiences with service departments (Carter Honda broke my passenger side roof latch while installing a Honda alarm, then replaced it with a drivers side latch!
. It really is a tough call, because I want to go to a dealership that has experience with the car (the last thing I want to see is the mechanic looking at the "how to guide" when fixing my car). I think Carter sells the most S2000's (in the Vancouver area), but I don't know where people are servicing their cars. I really like the service that I get on my Civic at Jonker Honda, but how much would they know about an S2K????
Do the mechanics who work on the cars get special S2000 certification?
What we need is RT to open up a shop in Vancouver!!!!

Sounds like a good plan... The question is which one do we go to??? I have heard so many horror stories about the different dealerships. We'll have to get together one day and coordinate up here in Vancouver. Maybe a group of us can meet with a service manger and have a little talk about our expectations...

How hard is it to RTFM!. But which dealer to pick ?
I've also had trouble with Carter and Regency. (previous threads) I also heard Shamu's Richmond Story (which actually does sell the most s2k's).
Anybody had stories of Happy or Vancouver ?
I don't want my car to be one of the experimental projects anymore !
That's a good idea everyone go to one place. Let them know our concerns about poor service. If a bunch us agree to service at one place maybe we can get a group discount? By the way how many Vancouverites belong to this club?
We might want to consider Middlegate. I have had my Civic worked on there several times, and they seem to be fairly reliable (except once they failed to diagnose a head gasket problem and instead charged me for a new thermostat). I bought my Civic at Happy and I didn't get the impression that the service department was strong, but then again I never used it, so??? I have had really good experiences out in Langley (again with a Civic), but I fear that this is too inconvenient for most Vancouver Owners. Is it worth the drive for you guys/gals?? I can meet with the service manager at Jonker if there is an interest...

I can head over to Middlegate and discuss the prospects with the service manager, but I think it would be better if we had a delegation there (three or four S2K's pulling into their parking lot might get some attention). In addition, I think we need someone who knows a lot more about the mechanical side of the car than I do. My vision is this:
1) We talk to the service manager and get a commitment from him that we will be looked after, with his full understanding that we are an extremely anal bunch (when it comes to our cars).
2) The service manager chooses one of his BEST mechanics to work on our cars, and only this person will touch them.
3) The selected mechanic will be given an opportunity to make himself aware of issues related to the S2K, after which time we will interview him to see if he truly is aware of some of the idiosyncrasies of our cars.
I know this sounds extreme, but if we provide the shop with 20 (or 30????) S2K's to work on, it will elevate their status, bring in good money, and the mechanic will have a really good, marketable specialization. As a group, we can "spiff" the mechanic (whiskey at Christmas, etc) to try and keep him on-side.
Any thoughts on this????
