I'm going through a serious case of withdrawal this morning. My husband drive my S2K to work today. Next week is going to be even worse - I have to leave the S2K with my dealer for a couple of days. Getting the hardtop installed and they are sending it to have a paint chip repaired. Does anyone else feel like part of them is missing when you don't have the car around - especially with the beautiful days we are having?

I was hoping to make it to the AutoX last weekend, but it just didn't work out. I had other plans when I found out about the AutoX. I had to drive to Bremerton. On my way back, northbound on I5, near the Tacoma Dome, I spotted a red S2K going southbound on I5. I believe it was around 4:30. Could that have been any of you guys?

I'm really looking forward to meeting you on Saturday. I'll be there for sure!!

I had to drive my Land Cruiser to work one day while the S2K was in for a checkup. The dealer called at lunch and told me it was ready. So I drove home dropped of the Land Cruiser pick up the S2K and went back to work. The rest of the day seemed much better after that. So I completely know what you mean.

Carol, when did you order your top? They're telling me its going to take 4 months minimum.

I didn't buy my car off the showroom floor. I ordered it new. I wanted to do the break in myself. We got the VIN number on the car on April 21. The hard top was ordered on April 23rd. They can't order the HT until they have the car VIN. The hard top arrived at the dealer last week, I think it was May 16th. So it took a little over 3 weeks to get it. I was shocked. I was prepared to wait for at least a couple of months. Now I need to find a place in my garage to store it - weather is way too nice to have the hard top on!!

They say they allow about 5 hours to do a good job on the installation. Lynnwood Honda has done several of them, so at least my car isn't practice. There is another guy that bought his S2K the same weekend I did. His HT is being installed today I believe. Hopefully he will be at the get together in Redmond on Saturday also.

By the way, I love ALL the colors!!!! I just personally think that the silver is classy. I liked the white, but thought it would be too hard to keep clean. Same with the black. Color was a hard decision. I even looked at a yellow the dearler had. My S2K is my only car - so it gets driven to work every day. With our Seattle weather I was afraid I would be washing it every day, instead of the every other day that my silver gets.

Out of curiosity, what was your main reason for getting the hardtop? Is it for winter/fall? Security reasons?

I don

only 3 weeks for the hardtop?? mine is gonna take at least 3 months...crazy.

I wanted the hardtop, cuz the top isn't waterproof and has major blindspots. The hardtop has a glass window and defroster!! And, i think the hardtop looks really cool on the S2k...especially in yellow!! IMHO!!

Can you go with the option of having both, the hard top and soft top. Yeah, i was thinking the same thing, whether to get it in the HT or ST, but if their is an option where i can get both, i'll go with that. Thanks!

elanderholm,

I haven't had any problem with the soft top not being waterproof. Or are you thinking of driving under water?

The hardtop does look really cool, and should eliminate the blind spot problem.
